Play and Say Speech and Language Pathology was founded in 2023 to provide an accessible speech pathology service for families wanting to help their child thrive. We strive to provide accessible, evidence based, fun and engaging speech services for children up to 13 years of age.

When you invite Play and Say into your family’s life, you are guaranteed to meet a caring, knowledgeable and passionate practitioner who is committed to helping your child. We use a variety of evidence based methods and frameworks to do our work, knowing that what’s most important to you is helping your child become the best they can be.  We pride ourselves on making this happen in both a functional and fun way, while quickly earning trust, making strong connections and helping your child thrive.

Play and Say provides Telehealth services to people from all over Australia and the world. We provide face to face services from our Robina clinic servicing families on the Gold Coast.

Jess Slorach - Play and Say

JESSICA SLORACH | Director and Certified Practising Speech Pathologist

Jess graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Speech Pathology. Prior to her speech pathology studies, Jess graduated from Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Linguistics. This is where her passion for all things speech and language related began.

Over the past 15 years Jess has gained experience working in a variety of paediatric settings including community health, hospitals, early intervention and private practice. She has extensive knowledge assessing and providing intervention in a range of areas, with a special interest in speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech and oral myology.

Jess grew up on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and moved to sunny Queensland in 2022 and is now based on the Gold Coast. Outside of speech pathology, Jess enjoys spending time with her husband and Golden Retriever, Walter. She is a foodie who loves trying new restaurants, but also loves creating a delicious home cooked meal. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach for a walk or swim, reading a good book or getting lost in a great movie.

  • Coulson Institute Oral Myology program – use of exercises and techniques to retrain the tongue, lips and jaw to correct functional irregularities of the face and mouth
  • Sounds-Write Phonics Program – a highly structured, multi-sensory synthetic phonics program
  • It Takes Two to Talk® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children with Language Delays
  • More Than Words® — The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties
  • Key Word Sign – The use of manual signs and natural gesture to support communication.
  • Lidcombe Program for Stuttering – behavioral treatment for children who stutter
  • SOS Approach to Feeding – A clinical program for helping children develop a healthy, lifelong relationship with food
